What does the World Cup, Grant Cardone, and lots of points have in common?

I just read an article by Grant Cardone (click here to see it) in which he was talking about the world cup and how in some games you may see a score of 1 – 0.  

On the surface, you can say it only takes 1 to win the game or to use another metaphor it only takes one sperm to do the job.  

What you don’t see is the number of shots attempted, or in the case of sperm all the other millions that don’t make it.

Applying this to business and life, it takes trying something multiple times in order to make it.  Thomas Edison attempted 10,000 times, and I’ve read other accounts where it was closer to 14,000 attempts to invent the incandescent light bulb.

Learn how slowing down can speed up your business

Case in point:

I got online to make money.  I found a program but with that program I needed to get an autoresponsder service.  Once I got an autoresponder service I needed to get a domain name.  Once I got a domain name, I needed to get BLAH BLAH BLAH and that list goes on…

Have you ever been in that position?

We get online to make money, not to go broke buying tools!!  Of course we need tools, domains, but for the new guy or to a disgruntled older guy who been online for a while, you need positive cash flow to get the ball rolling.

So lately, I cut off all the tools, paid blogging platforms, and etc and am making things super simple. 

Imagine simplifying your business down to ZERO monthly expenses!

My first program I got involved with I made money.  I don’t know why I ever changed programs but I think it was a mix of beginner’s luck and not being patient.

How marketing works online is by getting a lot of people to see your website, offer, business, product, etc with as little out of pocket costs as possible.  Would you agree?

How do we get people to see our website?

Traffic right?

Traffic is vital.  How can you get free traffic?  Blogging, Videos, and Social Media but with these three mediums you have to work your BUTT off.

Again starting to sound complicated right.

In the Marines we used to say

“Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast” old Marine Corps quote  TWEET THIS

After listening to a statement over and over again and I’m sure you have heard this as well.

“Pick one thing and master it, then chose another.”

What does that mean?

That means if you blog, keep blogging until you are getting results.  If you are shooting Youtube videos, then keep shooting YouTube videos until you are getting results. 

Don’t just blog for the sake of blogging, blog and try to learn something new about it daily such as SEO, embedded commands, hypnotic writing, etc.

Me, I was blogging, shooting YouTube videos, working on SEO, social media, and more all the while going crazy.

What I should have been doing was blogging and reading. 

Blogging about what?

Marketing, business, finance, money, and anything else that I could lead to THIS CAPTURE PAGE.

Reading what?

Anything from self help books to anything that I feel that would help me in business.

When you learn something, blog about it, and somewhere along the way point to a capture page LIKE THIS ONEeventually you will start bringing in money.

Once I master blogging, then I will start with videos.  Does that make sense?

3 quick tips on getting your YouTube videos ranked higher

You probably already know that YouTube is very powerful when it comes to branding, marketing, and advertising. CLICK TO TWEET

You also probably know how important it is to rank your videos higher amid the masses or else you wouldn’t read every word on this post right?

I have applied these tips and some videos rank very quickly and some rank slower depending on the amount of competition.

So let’s get to it.

Answer specific questions

In your videos be real specific.  This can be considered going after “low hanging fruit” when it comes to keywords.  This strategy won’t bring you the massive searches but it will bring you the most targeted leads.  Think of questions someone who needs your business, product, or service needs and answer them.

For example:

‘How to make money blogging’ ‘How to get leads through blogging’ ‘How to etc etc etc whatever applies to your business goes here’

Content is still king on videos

In the about section, write at least 200 words about your video.  Some people actually transpose their video and put in the about section.  Either way if you have at least 200 words of ORIGINAL content then this does wonders to boosting your video and DON’T just fill it full of keywords. 

Put some thought into it and just write down what your video is about and generally that will definitely help.

Social Interaction

This maybe one of the most important tips to pay attention too!  Comments left by people shows YouTube and Google that your video must be important based on all the feedback.  In each of your videos, include a call to action for people to LIKE, COMMENT, AND SHARE your video.  The more likes, comments, and shares the higher it will get ranked. 

Start applying these 3 tips to every one of your YouTube videos consistently and you will soon start to see better results in your video marketing efforts!

I will say that again sometimes you need to take a step back, slow down, and focus on the basics to move forward faster.

As you continue to read this blog post I want you to think about the daily actions you are taking in your business right now.  Think about the results you have got so far doing what it is you are doing.  Really try to focus on what activities are, or were, bringing you to most results compared to everything else you maybe doing.

For myself, I was getting overwhelmed trying to build my network on Linked in and Facebook, shooting Youtube videos, and blogging all the while trying to study SEO and still Go for 20 no’s a day.

Some, if not most, of what I was doing wasn’t really my style.  So I just decided to slow down and concentrate on one thing at a time.  In the past I have sponsored 65+ people in a previous opportunity just by blogging.  I wasn’t doing Youtube, posting ads, connecting and showing the plan.  I was just power blogging.

Plain and simple.  Here on Google’s Blogger platform you can post banner ads, track your stats, and basically do a lot of cool stuff but at the end of the day with this free blogging platform you can build your business online through blogging.  Sharing your thoughts with the world and then pointing to a capture page like this one, and you have the potential to make money.

So if you are doing 1,000 different things, I challenge you to slow down and just do one thing and track your daily results.  Over time the compound effect will kick in and multiply your results exponentially.  Just apply sheer consistency and persistence and nothing will ever get in your way.

Just like a drop of water can eventually wear away the hardest stone!  Just like Thomas Edison successfully finding 10,000 ways the incandescent light bulb would not work.  Imagine if you had 10,000 400+ word original blog posts representing you and your business to the internet.

Blogging works regardless of your business, industry, profession, and each blog posts becomes an online piece of virtual real estate which points back to your brand.  The more you produce, the more content you have working for you 24/7.  The more content you have, the better.  Eventually you will get to a point to where you don’t have to produce that much but by that time, writing blog posts will become so ingrained in you that you won’t want to. 

Once the money starts trickling in, it’s hard to stop it.  In this program here, I still make money from blog posts I have written over 1 year ago and now in keeping with the back to basics, I’m going to write over 10,000 blog posts all pointing here.

I’m not going to focus on SEO.  I’m just going to type whatever I feel inspired to write.  I’m going to write at least 1 400 word original blog post per day and I will keep you informed of my progress!  (Because you do wanna know don’t ya? Lol)

I’m just banging out this quick post before I head down to my monthly San Diego Investment Clubmeeting.  I’m writing this actually to talk about blogging and how it builds your online business when you don’t have the time to.

I was in a previous opportunity and I sponsored 65+ people into it and it was done 100% through blogging.  I just got out of the Marine Corps and was looking for a full time job.  I found a couple of opportunities online and at night I would write a couple of blog posts documenting my success with my old company. 

At first, it took a while before my blogs started to get read but I kept hammering away at it.  I had free blogs and have also used a paid platform that also taught blogging techniques.  What I have learned over time that it really doesn’t matter where you blog but that you are the author of your content and that it’s 100% original.

We write blogs to get found online.  In a perfect world, we would like our blog on the first page of Google but that hardly happens.  I have studied SEO for a while but at the end of the day, it takes a lot of work to get on the first page, maintain it, and not to mention the intense competition.

So the next best thing, is to just tell your story and engage in social media (when you have the time).  I would also recommend blogging over social media.  Social media requires a lot of attention and it’s a social platform.  That means you have to be social and when you have a life, kids, full time job, school classes, and etc you can’t be checking Facebook every 5 minutes.

Also your social media posts disappear from the news feed after a while and you are back at square one.  I use Hootsuite to program Tweets and status updates throughout the day.  I also use Hootsuite to blast out my blogs and videos.

Now, I try to get one blog post or video done and upload it on the world wide web, send it out on social media, answer a few emails, and go on about my life!

At the end of the day, whatever business you are in you need people to see your business.  Whether you connect with them on social media, offline, or pay for traffic you succeed in your business by constantly getting in front of new people.  This can be challenging when you have a life but if you just take 30 minutes to write one blog post and a few minutes to share your thoughts on social media over time you can build a profitable business in conjunction with having a full time life!
